Hi everyone,

I am wondering if any other labs out there who work on Drosophila who have ever experienced (or are currently experiencing) degradation of dissected tissue while performing an IHC protocol.

Our lab performs IHC on Drosophila brains from all developmental stages and in the past few weeks, each member of the lab has noticed that the tissue becomes extremely fragile and starts falling apart by the middle of the IHC protocol. This has been happening in brains that come from a variety of genetic backgrounds. We do not think it is our IHC protocol or reagents as we have done a variety of controls to confirm this. This may suggest that something is wrong with the flies themselves and this may be happening in other labs as well.

If anyone is having the same issues and/or any potential solutions we can try out please let us know!

Thanks!
