I need some suggestions related to the measurement or creating indicators that can be used for the measurement of the reliability of the partners in the supply chain.
Two important indicators that In my opinion need to be added are:
Quality: What is the quality of goods or services, ordered from a vendor. Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods come handy in terms of this indicator. Are batches, delivered by a certain vendor within our quality limits or there are non-conformaties? Have vendors been informed about our SPC approaches, such as, specification, control limits, sampling methods, in-control or out-of-control rules, etc. ?
Lead time: How reliable are vendors in terms of delivery of goods or services, ordered from them. Are vendors delivering goods, according to agreed lead times or there are some deviations? How often those deviations happen?
Can the reliability of the entire supply chain then be seen as a multiplication of the reliability of each of the partners in the chain?
The idea is to create main groups of indicators (such as financial indicators, indicators related to the carbon footprint, indicators related to the management system, etc.). Such indicators can be used for analyzing the reliability of all partners in SC. With the given reliability of each partner and by multiplication of their reliability, the reliability of the entire SC can be determined?
