By challenge, what do you mean and how do you mean that Big Data Analytics can be a threat to accounting professionals? In fact, if the technology is leveraged in the proper way, professionals can rather be benefited, with the required technology and skills to cater to a larger customer base who needs solution for their accounting problems.

If you mean that Big Data systems and analytics coming into the market being a threat to Accounting professionals (individual), then maybe I agree. I know for a fact that named Fin-tech companies can use these technologies well enough to have a huge customer base (For example, High Radius Pvt. Ltd). They are a fin-tech company who cater to financial accounting problems for it's clients.

I do not consider that the main change driver for the accountants job market is big data, but Blockchain also known as Distributed Ledger technology. All accounts can be reconciled automatically from the participating nodes, reducing the need for humans in elementary tasks...

In fact, perfect knowledge of various IT subjects would be required in addition to complete knowledge of various accounting issues. In my opinion, it will definitely help in integrated reporting in real time, in managing risk,but it will adversely affect the Accountants in their day to day operations. The future belongs to only professionals having a good command over IT subjects alongwith accounting.I suppose various professional bodies must amend their syllabus to include IT and Analytics aaspects in much detail.Moreover, there may arise a need to amend various accounting standards also.

Yes, the processing of large data sets in Big Data database systems can support the analysis of data from the company's accounting, including conducting Business Intelligence analytics, including multi-criteria economic, financial and indicator analyzes.
