in measuring water infiltration in a soil column with a constant head method using a Marriott bottle, how can i calculate infiltration rate ?
Also in determining hydraulic conductivity of soil Hydraulic gradient = Delta H/ L ,Where Delta H is the difference between the hydraulic head on the soil surface and bottom of the soil column. how can i calculate the hydraulic head on bottom of the soil column?
i am not very familiar with these subjects so i appreciate any help provided.

Hello,
Delta H= L+h where, L= length of the sample and h= hydraulic head. U measure the h using a microscopic slide then see the amount of water by holding the slide against a ruler. Should be less than 2 cm for the constant head method to be stable. See attached the photo I use in the lab.
