You perform an experiment at room temperature with a material and as you decrease the channel length down to 20nm you see an increase in the device conductance. You perform this experiment at 4K and you see that at roughly 40nm there is a significant change in the behavior of the device, its conductance does not change with channel length anymore. What has transpired?

I'm looking for some guidance on where to start this question. I believe it has to do with electron mean free paths but was not positive. Any assistance is appreciated!
