It is possible to talk about the CLIL methodology if the subjects are taught in both languages with the same content? I mean when in a bilingual study program the subject of e.g. Economic Geography is taught by two teachers in two lessons - in one lesson it is taught in English (using some CLIL methodology) and in the other lesson it is taught in mother tongue only. Is it also CLIL?
What is the importance of it in terms of lingvodidactics?

Generally speaking, the main objective of bilingual teaching is for the targeted learners to reach the ability of communicating with individuals from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. In recent years, CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) has become the most practical method of bilingual teaching because it makes bilingual learning a kind of discovery learning in which content is taught and studied in a language that is not the native language of the learners. This triggers learners' motivation so that their interest in the content promotes their willingness to learn the language in which the teaching is accomplished. Under the new perspectivization, CLIL caters to a natural learning environment in which language always serves as the medium for attaining new knowledge. This is also true about your case because the whole idea is to increase learners' interest in the foreign language than in the native language. Alternatively, the situation at hand does not defy the principles of CLIL because the targeted context not only broadens the cultural horizon of learners but it also prepares them for a globalized world improving their English competence and communicative skills.Alternatively, the present context , as it is, increases the motivation of learners , stimulates their creative thinking, and teaches them the most practical ways of acquiring knowledge.

CLIL is a term created in 1994 by David Marsh as a methodoloy similar to but distinct from language immersion and content-based instruction.It is an approach for learning content through an additional language(foreign or second), thus teaching both the subject and the language.It can provide effective opportunities for pupils to use their new for use later.

And what if some CLIL teachers prefer the knowledge of the subject to the knowledge of the language? If the content of the subject in CLIL is more important for some teachers why is CLIL called the methodology of teaching foreign languages?
