I am an earthquake engineer and I have an issue that I believe you can help me with.
As you know earthquake acceleration record and the structure response under this excitation is a signal. Now I want to control these signals with feed-forward and feed-back algorithms of active control.
So would you please introduce me to some brief sources that explain the basis of active control and optimal control of a signal and some sources which explain different types of feed-forward and feed-back algorithms?

Where are you starting from, are you familiar with LTI systems, continuous-time vs discrete-time models, signal processing, Laplace/Fourier/Z transforms, state-space models? What resources will you be using, have you access to the likes of simulink? If yes to some or most of the above, then a control-engineering book like: "The Art of Control Engineering" by, Ken Dutton et al, might be a good place to start, otherwise, I expect you need to revisit some engineering mathematics.
