I currently have both DWI and ADC sequences however I want to calculate the mean ADC value for a defined ROI (ischemic stroke lesion). I currently use ITK-SNAP, Image J and Horos for viewing DICOM/niFTI files, so I was wondering if anyone could suggest an easy methods using this software, or alternatively, any other easy to use freeware? Any advice would be great!
ADC map can be done using different b-values via changing gradient amplitude (b50, b800 for example) and ADC values are expressed in mm^2/s. ITK-Snap provides ADC values voxel by voxel, so the mean intensity of Label 1 (474.9) is simply the mean ADC value in that ROI in mm^2/s.

ITK-SNAP, ImageJ and Horos allow to manually draw a ROI in dicom/nifti files. For example in ITK-snap you have to click in main toolbar section on the left "paintbrush mode" in which you can draw a ROI/VOI of various shape and size (typically in red color), after that you can see mean value, volume, SD, voxel count in: segmentation -> volumes and statistic
Basically the same process is intended for the other software.

Thank you so much for your help! I have already segmented the image on ITK-SNAP, however my concern is when I go to segmentation volume and stats, I am not sure if this the numbers are relating to the b-value, or what specifically should be reported for the ADC, if that makes sense. My understanding is the units are reported in mm2/s, and I am not entirely sure how to determine this! Please see attached example screenshot of my workspace. Any further advice would be great.
