Hi all,

I am getting positive NTC's on my qPCR plates. I have determined it is likely due to primer dimer and not contamination. This is all good but I am having trouble understanding a few things. The CT's for NTC dupliate are sometimes wildly different. For example for one treatment I had one NTC at 30 CTs and other at 24 CTs. This has happened a few times which lead me to run all my primers with just NTC's. Some were fine, but others showed a huge difference in CT's between NTC duplicates. Why is this? I would assume NTC duplicates would be very similar if primer dimer was occuring...

I hope that makes sense

Cheers

Toby
