In short weeds are plants growing where it is not wanted, and it is desired that we should go for weeding to increase the economic yield of different crops.

It has also been observed that most of the weeds are edible to animals. Is it required to go for weeding in forage crops as both the crop and weeds are edible to the animals? The weeds in this case may act as bio-mulch, soil erosion barrier, supply plant nutrients after decay in soil and so on.
