Why do researchers upload their full length journal paper on ResearchGate? Is that not a copyright violation? Do the journals do anything about this? For conference papers, or open access papers, I believe there is no restriction as such. But for published papers in peer-reviewed journals, there is always a condition that the published paper will not be uploaded by the authors anywhere else as it would be copyright violation. Still, people do it. Will the journal not spot that and retract the paper on grounds of copyright violation?
