because of the risk of contaminated samples (biopsy) is better to use selective medium for H. pylori culture. Possible contaminating microorganisms can grow faster.

I'm just wondering why trimethoprim is not inhibiting h.pylori growth?

We use selective media with amphotericin, vancomycin, cefsulodin and trimethoprim for H. pylori culture and it works very well.

i think to add polymyxin B instead of

cefsolodin, may be give good results
