What about using the contents of the thesis (even copy/paste) to publish few articles out of it. In my case, the thesis is present in University online archive but it does not have any ISBN.
It's a pretty common way to use your dissertation. Think carefully about a focus for each article. You could actually see what others have done by looking at their dissertations online and then at some articles they've written. Your dissertation chair should be able to advise you.
In my field of study publication is also effected by distribution on or after 1 January 2012 of electronic material in Portable Document Format (PDF; see also Art. 29.3 and Rec. 29A.1) in an online publication with an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) or an International Standard Book Number (ISBN).
In my opinion a thesis in the electronic form without ISBN is not effectively published. So there should not be any problem to publish papers from a thesis uploaded in the web but without ISBN.
However, you check the rules and regulations in your field of study.
