Operationalization of node and place indexes is a matter of discussion (and being transparent about choices). Different contexts or research goals might need different operationalizations. In this case, I would argue that distance to CBD (on the railway network) is a node feature, as it relates to the connection of an area ot other areas place features are instead related to the are itself).
