I am looking for a semi-qualitative method to determine microbial oxygen usage in human stool samples. In Wikipedia, Thioglycolate broth is used for the differentiation of obligate aerobes, obligate anaerobes, facultative anaerobes, microaerophiles, and aerotolerant organisms. They grow in different layers in the medium. Anyone familiar with this protocol?
