Hey all,

1st-year Masters student here.

I am interested in using a SpectraMax M2 Plate Reader for a spectrophotometric assay and am trying to collect the proper reagents and materials.

I am wondering if the type of 96-well plate matters. Do I need a special type of optical plastic? or will any do. Is the geometry of the well (pointed vs flat bottomed) also important?

Specifically I am trying to measure the intensity of a dye at 620 nm (if knowing that helps).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

CF
