I am just wondering if someone asks us, social workers, in future -
What was the response of professional social work in India to the pandemic?
what would be our answer? and what info do I have?
In fact, while asking the question, I am keeping in mind the fleet of students that we have in all our social work programmes in the country and the involvement of our departments plus professional social work organisations and organisations involving professional social workers.

Excellent question. This should have been a major issue for programs with a concentration in International Social Work and human rights concerns. Given the magnitude of effects on life and life chances caused by COVID-19, the responsiveness of the institution of social work and its participants has been challenged by this event, which warrants closer scrutiny, especially given the emphasis placed by CSWE on including global content in the curriculum.
COVID-19 has dramatically increased the demand of social work courses. Social workers did the best job in this pandemic. None can deny the role of NGOs and their workers as well as independent social workers' role in saving life of people.......
