Why not? It depends on what biopolymer you prefer? If the waste contains more carbon you can use microorganisms to produce polyhydroxy alkanoates.

Lignocellulosic biomass is composed by three main components that the most percent is basically built by biopolymers already. Therefore the use of biomass waste to produce biopolymers is totally feasible. Biomass is an excellent pathway to substitute part of the petrochemical industry we are depending on today.
