Dear Researchgate followers,
We collect blood from newborn calves both before and after first-colostrum intake to get lymphocytes. Blood is taken by jugular venipuncture with vacuum tubes containing lithium heparine, prior to a classical gradient separation procedure using Histopaque. While post-colostral collection is usually successful in providing cells for ADN and ARN extraction, pre-colostral collection does not. Pre and post-colostrum collection take 2-4 hours in between. I greatly acknowledge feed back.
