Some questions specific to Eccentric Compression of a column:
1) Should not we specify the Y -offset as eccentricity e, why does the command specify offset z ?

SECDATA,2.26,2.26,8,0.39,0.39,0.22
SECOFFSET,USER,,0.6465
2)The offset e is defined in the element coordinate system.Why is this. How is this different from CSYS,0 we are using ?
3) If I want to apply self weight also in the analysis but in the second step, temperature loading in the third step , how to do that? Will that be a linear superposition of results or in an interactive form?
4) if we dont apply symmetry BC, would that be correct and if not why ? DSYM,SYMM,Z

For proper orientation, we use concept of orientation node , and after that weuse /ESHAPE COMMAND.
Regarding applying load in steps I am using following technique
/SOLU ! Enter SOLUTION ...
! Load Step 1: D,1,ALL ! Loads F,2,FY,P NSUBST,1 ! Load step options OUTRES,ALL OUTPR,ALL LSWRITE ! Writes load step file: Jobname.S01
! Load Step 2: D,... ! Loads NSUBST,1 ! Load step options OUTRES,ALL OUTPR,ALL LSWRITE ! Writes load step file: Jobname.S02 LSSOLVE,1,2 ! Initiates solution for load step files 1 and 2.
When i specify steps individually it solves , but when i use all the steps it only gives me results for the last step . Thus my deflection is only due to LS 2 and not because of Load step 1.
