Can you please point out research possibilities in Power system Analysis, load flow or anything similar that needs to be solved through research. A possible PhD Thesis. Preferably industry oriented problems.
Hi Divya, Try to work on Demand Response scheme under Smart Grid Environment particularly in deregulated electricity markets as well as Indian scenario.
Tied with dynamic (typically renewable) distributed generation -- and alternate optimal uses for surplus electrical power when it exists (e.g., H2 generation, water heating, space heat or cooling, etc.)
(and No, Please NO MORE battery etc., "storage solutions," the problem is too much electricity, already -- not a need to store some for later)
We are observing Local Utility Grid and customer sites where the voltage is set so high (too high, actually) that it barely stays in specificification. When local loads or local generation shifts, the voltage levels go over the spec and knock the local generation off.
Buck-Boosting the voltage down at the local generation point has been (a) local site solution, and while this works, it is lossy, and the higher voltage that all the other site equipment receives causes all that other equipment to consume more power.
Ideal would be some low-cost load switching, conservation voltage reduction, and a dynamic way to tie local / co-generation into the overall system -- with lots of plug-and-play options, and then a overall software modeling and control system.
Hello Philip, thank you for your reply. I need to do some more reading to understand the subject better. I just finished with my Master's in totally different subject. I will get in touch with you soon. Regards, Divya.
