Hello, everyone, I want to ask a question which bothered me for a long time.

I am conducting a verification analysis by LS-DYNA according to an RC columns impact experiment finished by Prof. Fujikake which was preferred by many other researchers as the verification case. I believe researchers in the field of impact research of RC components must have an impression about that article. In the process of modeling, the hourglass energy was very unstable when parameters change, even these parameters have no substantial relationship with hourglass energy according to references as far as I know. For example, when I changed the static and dynamic coefficient of friction(FS and FD in contact card 2) from 0.3 to 0.2, the ratio of hourglass energy to internal energy changed from an acceptable level(less than 10%) to the extent that hourglass energy exceeded internal energy ( as illustrated in Fig 1). And the contour of effective plastic strain looks very unreal like Fig 2. The chosen hourglass control type was type5 Flanagan-Belytschko stiffness form with QM= 0.1. I tried other QM value, but it just didn't work.

So, I am wondering if anyone can give some suggestions. And thanks for your attention.
