Hello,
I'm modeling simple beam made of laminated double glass, so my model is consist of three bodies - solids - two made of glass and one in between made of PVB foil. All bodies material model is linear elastic. Because of small Young's modulus of PVB foil, there are "waves" in resulting deformation plot of PVB body, that is different from results obtained from Ansys APDL where I used SOLID185. So my question was if I use SOLID185 in Ansys Workbench there still are that "waves" or not. But if I change element type on SOLID185 using comand "ET,MATID,SOLID185" I don't get results because of solution errors.
Coul'd you help me?

DR PESEC!! In Workbench, right click on the Geometry cell and Edit in SpaceClaim. In SpaceClaim, click on the Prepare tab, click on the Extract button in the Beams palette, the select the solid. That will convert the solid into a Beam. Close SpaceClaim.

Thanks Ijaz Durrani and Abdelkader Dehbi. I don't need convert solid model into beam model, because the same problem is in the glass panes. I set a linear element order in mesh settings, high factor of normal stifness in contact settings and only one element across interlayer thickness and it works as the theory says. Great. Are there contacts between the solids?
Maybe the waves come from the contact-behavior (glass panels are much stiffer than the PVB-foil). I recommend to connect the three single bodies to one body -> e.g. in DesignModeller: mark all three solids - right mouse click - form new body.
So you get a single mesh without the need of contacts. Usually, the calculations will also be faster and more stable.
