Try diethyl ether.. I am extracting actinomycetes metabolite using diethyl ether

You can also try non-polar solvents like benzene ,carbon tetra chloride

I also recommend to try diethyl ether and also benzene, n-butanol...etc. You haveto survey upon a wide range of solvents to pick up your right bug!

You can also try the n-butanol, it is a good solvents for antibiotics extraction, but it extract lot of impurities.

Glad to know that you are working with actinomycetes isolated from alkaline soil. Infact you have use all most used solvents. Ethyl acetate is most commonly used in drug discovery from these microbes. However if you can write what is the exact problem you have faced then I am sure this forum will respond and enrich the problem with solutions. Also I was wondering which alkaline soils have you used, I mean which area (CaCO3 rich area or Lonar crater sediment etc.). Thanks and good luck in your research.

You can use activated charcoal or hp dianion resin...may solve your problem
