Polyacrylamide-based hydrogels are frequently prepared via radical polymerization and cross-linking reactions with N,N'-Methylenebisacrylamide. Several reaction parameters (initiator concentration, monomer concentration, cross-linking agent concentration, for instance) can be modified to better adjust the hydrogel final properties.

Please, feel free to consult the attached reference, where you will find such reaction conditions variations with the corresponding effects on the structure and properties of the hydrogels.
