You've just answered your question!!

The unit is kg/m2/s .... so you should calculate the seconds of a day, which is:

1 day=24*60*60=86400s

so now divide the values by 86400. After all your unit will be in mm of precipitation.

Hi Muhammad, thanks for the response! I have done that same conversion though and it gave very high values (multiplying by 86400, since we're going from per second to per day). The initial values actually seem to be in mm/day based on comparing the stats with those of the observations. Do you think that's possible? I just downloaded it from this website: https://www.earthsystemgrid.org/search/cordexsearch.html.

Hi MuhammadReza, thanks again for the response :) The files are really big, but I think I might have figured it out anyway - I think they have aggregated the results (per second) to daily (per day) because the data is at a daily time step (so instead of giving the average flux in kg/m2/s, they've added them up to effectively give kg/m2/day). Which explains why it seems to match the statistics of observations in mm/day.
