I want to study the sources of humidity and the main transport factors that determine precipitation in continental Ecuador (and their pathways). Much bibliography exists regarding the subject for Central America and South America in general. However, with respect to Ecuador, I have only found one article, i.e. Esquivel-Hernandez et al. (2019).

Ecuador is a scientifically interesting area of study for being in the tropics and being divided into climatic regions by the Andes mountain range. The main influence expected is the humidity of the Pacific and the Atlantic, and the Amazon River basin. But I have not been able to find much information about studies for Ecuador specifically.

Could someone suggest me literature on the subject for this specific study site (Ecuador)?
