The famous sensitive + and motor - syndrome is associated with Adamkiewicz. But it should be earlier.

Other syndromes that need to be investigated are:

Acute porphyria?

Guillain–Barré syndrome?

These are the first rare syndromes that I would investigate after neurologic commitment after surgery.
