I did not know what you mention and perhaps, if it exists, I could offer an answer. However, daily publications here in RG do not appear to support what you say

AHP follows the descriptive method that consists in finding solution to problems based on structured preferences and wishes, probably useful in personal life but not to solve situations where preferences and wishes do not exist. Rationality, research, investigation are aspects unknown in AHP but essential in most other methods.

Fuzzy logic is mathematics, science, practically the opposite.

Many times, I wonder, and asked this questions to colleagues here in RG, who never answered, about the rationality and common sense of using a mathematical tool to have the crisp value of two or three invented weights. The result will indicate the coherence of the DM, but who cares about that? What is important in to decrease uncertainty of real values, not of what the DM has in mind.

Impossible to know, but perhaps people is thinking about this absurdity and find that fuzzy, working with AHP weights is irrational and a waste of time.

Maybe some day some of them will realize that working with AHP is also a waste of time, and migrate to rational procedures like PROMETHHE, ELECTRE, TOPSIS and VIKOR and using objective weights from entropy

Lo que le comprendo es que ni AHP ni FAHP son de sus preferencias para utilizar como herramientas para "la solución de un problema" con multiples criterios, desde su experiencia usted recomienda otros métodos como: PROMETHHE, ELECTRE, TOPSIS y VIKOR

Yo no hablo de preferencias en seleccion de proyectos. Estas estan bien para elegir una carrera, un restaurant o un cine.

Los proyectos de la vida real trabajan con hechos no con intuiciones.

AHP fue una buena herramienta en los 60s caundo el mundo empresario trabajaba con el multi centenario metodo de que el de arriba manda, y los que estan debajo obdecen , como era y quizas sigue siendo la estrctura militar. ANP mejoro ese aspecto pero sigue basado en las mismas asunciones absurdas de AHP

AHP esta plagado de asunciones sin sentido ni matematico ni logico, como es asignar un peso a una comparacion pareada, o exigir que las estimaciones del decisor sean transitivas, o asumir que lo que esta en la mente del decisior se aplica a la vida real, y le aseguro que puedo seguir con muchas mas.

Por supuesto que no siempre los datos con exactos y que hay incertidumbre, pero eso es mannejable como lo hace PROMETHEE, y en otros metodos, donde usted puede ver razonamiento, reflexion y experiencia, algo que no existe an AHP ni en ANP. Por eso yo sugiero emplerar metodos normativos, racionales, pensados.

Si el director de ingenieira de una empresa le pregunta al decisor por que elegio en PROMETHEE cierto tipo de distribucion, el decisor puede responderle porque tiene razones, las cuales el director puede aceptar o no. Si el decisor uso AHP and ANP, que respuesta le puede dar? Que se baso en su intuicion? Por favor, seamos serios.

guaaooo excelente su pensamiento y agradezco su respuesta. Es que ahora estoy iniciando una investigacion donde deseo identificar y ponderar algunos criterios que "garanticen" la viabilidad de un proyecto energético con fuentes de energías renovables en Colombia.

Su pais tiene a mi entender mucho que dar a ese respecto, debido a sus grandes rios y potencia hidrica, zonas ventosas como Cabo de la Vela y Urbia para generacion eolica y plantas solares, tanto PV como termicas) en la zona del Caribe, y ni hablar de la biomasa

In my opinion, we have to consider two methods here: AHP and Fuzzy

AHP is full of assumptions that lack any mathematical or common-sense support.

From there, the DM goes to Fuzzy, a scientific procedure, and feeds it with invented values. Fuzzy will deliver a crisp value which is only valid for the DM, and to prove his 'coherence', and what is that good for?

I have been asking this question for years and never got an answer, even AI recognizes that it is useless. Why do people insist in using FAHP? Just to say that a problem was solved and the article published?
