All it depends on the facility available and money your institute can spend. In poultry pathology most of the work is on diagnosis of disease and suggesting preventive measures. Diagnosis of poultry diseases using immunological techniques and PCR can be considered.

you are absolutely true. But there are always some hot issues which are trend followed by researchers. Mean to say, concentration of the scientists is focused on specific issue. like now a days issue of avian influenza is on the top in asian as well as europian countries. but that is virology. here it is not in my reach. bacteriology can be studied here.

you can also think of toxicological studies with toxic minerals

You can work on histopathology of specific organs of poultry fed with substitute feeds or new feeds in your country. Some of the feeds have side effects which are not physical, histopathological and biochemical analysis will reveal these defects.

Nano science is at its peak... If you can study the dose dependent response of different nano minerals and its histopatholigical samples...

And so many reports are there in this manner but mostly are scanty and arbitary... If you can a perticular mineral and its histolathology dependimg on its doses... Even that will b a platform for more research
