I extracted humic matter using 200g of soil from 1M NaOH and hydrolysed with 1M HCl and then dialysed and refrigerate to purify the samples before NMR analysis.
I am sending you a link (below) to a paper on IR-analysis of humics. There are shown the spectra of analytes and a standard (Fig. 3, attachment). The bands within 3020-2800 cm-1 belong to CH3,CH2,CH groups, which are intensive in the spectra. The modes within 1250-1000 cm-1 (fingerprint region) are of C-C, C-O, C-N moleculat motions. They are also strong intensive in the shown spetra, meaning that the number of these functional groups is large.
In this context in your NMR-spectra absent a large set signals for Cs. But when you are OK with your data....
