Please clarify if Beta-cyclodextrin must be pretreated before it can be used as an adsorbent for debittering. Or can it be used as powder directly?

Beta-cyclodextrin is an adsorbent resin.

Hello Shamina,

Given that Cyclodextrins are glucose based oligosaccharides and water soluble. to have an effective adsorbent the Cyclodextrins are normally crosslinked e.g. using EDTA. cross-linking make it stronger (nonsoluble) and possibly larger structure which could be more efficient adsorbent.
