I reckon the secondary usage can indicate non-core, connotative, idiomatic, figurative, nonliteral applications.
There are certain cases of secondary usage of proper names in the English language. In such cases s proper noun has a generalized meaning. For instance,
He is a Dickens of our age.
It means that he is a great writer.
