We have to study toxicity profile in rat pups. Please anyone can suggest me suitable method for toxicity study in rat pups by oral route of administration?
Your type of study will highly depend on route of exposure (oral/inhalation ..), target organ and onset of the exposure (neonatal or closer to weaning). No "standard" protocols are available and study design has to be adapted case-by-case. If you can give more information, that would be helpful. In general you can refer to the repeated dose toxicity guidelines (ICH, OECD407). In case of specific endpoints, immune system or learning/memory tests may be included.
