Dear all,
Are any of you familiar with any reliable pipetting robots for PCR and qPCR application? I know there are some available on the market but I haven't used any of them, however due to the increasing amount of samples I'm thinking whether it would be a feasible posibility for the future. We would be mostly working 384 well plate format but also 96 well sometimes.

We tested 2 pipetting robots in the past (but for a different application, not PCR): the i.prep from Veon Scientific and the Assist Plus from Integra. The Assist Plus is much more flexible but it's larger and it can get expensive if you need many accessories. The i.prep is very compact, the software was still a bit green at the moment (it was 2 years ago, IIRC), but they claim to have improved it since then. We didn't purchase anything at the end because of budgetary restrictions, but both companies offered demos and let us try the instruments for a while.

Francesc Felipe and Jahid Hasan Tipu thank you both for your fast replies! From the mentioned options i think Assist Plus from Integra and perhaps Eppendorf epMotion 5070 would be suitable for our needs. Maybe if I'm more specific of what we would need:
1. transfer of samples from 96-well plate to either 96- or 384-well plate
2. addition of mastermix in a desired volume (possibly with one channel "repeater" instead of multi channel - to save on the reagent)
3. probably it would have been nice to have the option of transfering samples from tubes or strips to 96-well plate as well
It seems that Eppendorf epMotion 5070 could cover all three while for Assist Plus the mastermix would be needed to be added by multichannel pipette which means having more dead volume. Do you happen to know what would be the price range for Eppendorf epMotion 5070?
