hello dear in my point of view if you decompose the construct then there needs to be used factor analysis for content validity otherwise no need just 15-30 respondents are enough for pilot study to confirm that respondents feed back and understanding.
You can do a scale validation using CFA if the instrument that you use has been used previously in other research studies. However, if there are changes to the items used or additions then you may do an EFA followed by a CFA.
How could we do scale validation using CFA as the sample size is very small ?
I have instrument with 20 variables and 80 items (all well established scales in existing literature but I translated them to another language) and I get 43 responses, what are the best techniques could I use to validate my questioner and reduces it as it's very long.

Even if the questionnaire used is already validate, we still have to make it content validity and pilot study if it is used in different culture or context.
