What are the areas that has insufficient focus in IT sector by the researchers at the moement?

Several areas within the IT sector are somewhat neglected or could benefit from more research focus:

Digital Ethics: With the rise of AI and machine learning, we are creating increasingly powerful tools, but we have yet to thoroughly explore the ethical implications of these technologies. This includes areas such as AI bias, the potential for AI to replace jobs, the effects of AI on privacy, and the potential misuse of AI.

Explainable AI (XAI): While machine learning, particularly deep learning, has led to major advancements, the internal workings of these models are often seen as "black boxes". That is, they can make accurate predictions, but humans often can't understand how they arrived at those predictions. This can be problematic in fields where understanding the reasoning process is crucial, such as healthcare or legal applications.

Cybersecurity for IoT: The Internet of Things (IoT) is growing rapidly, with more and more devices becoming internet-enabled. However, many of these devices are not designed with security in mind, leading to potential vulnerabilities. More research could be done to improve the security of IoT devices.

Sustainable Computing: As the IT sector grows, so does its carbon footprint. More research could be done into developing more energy-efficient algorithms, data centers, and overall systems to decrease the environmental impact.

IT Accessibility: There is a growing need for technology that is accessible and usable for people with disabilities. Research in this area could involve improving user interfaces, designing software and hardware that can be operated in a variety of ways, and leveraging AI to assist individuals with disabilities.

Human-AI Interaction: As AI becomes more integrated into our daily lives, there will be a growing need to improve the ways humans and AI interact. This could involve improving the interpretability of AI systems, designing systems that can understand and adapt to human emotions, and developing new ways for humans to control AI systems.

Quantum Computing: While quantum computing has seen a lot of interest, it is still a nascent field and could benefit from more research. Potential research areas include quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, and quantum cryptography.

Data Governance: In the era of big data, how data is managed, protected, and used is of paramount importance. However, the aspects of data governance including data quality, privacy, security, and compliance need more focus and innovative solutions.

These are just a few areas where additional research could lead to significant advancements. The exact priorities may change as technology continues to evolve, but these are some areas that were under-explored.
