Hello!
Is there any method through which I can get the mechanical damping coefficient for a piezoelectric harvester without conducting experimental tests? (University closed due to Coronavirus)
I have a Mide PPA-4011 piezo with 4 PZT-5H layers, and the product specifications lack important information. I even got about 40 Hz more in the fundamental frequency in experiments than specifications (214 Hz vs. 183 Hz).
I need to introduce damping in Frequency Domain study in COMSOL Multiphysics in order to have a good approximation of the electric potential output.

Thank you very much for your very useful feedback. Specially first article is very good as it has a mathematical model with which the damping coefficient can be calculated.

Thank you so much! That is most helpful. I got the relation between the piezoelectric quality factor (given in product specifications) and damping ratio from a link the COMSOL blog you sent me to a previous blog https://www.comsol.com/blogs/damping-in-structural-dynamics-theory-and-sources/.
I have already run COMSOL simulations meanwhile and after several damping ratios i have tried, i reached to a close value of ζ=0.016, still giving a bit too much voltage response in the vicinity of resonance.
By calculating depending on Quality Factor Q=30, with the relation Q=1/(2ζ), then i get ζ=1/(2Q) ≈ 0.017.
Damping loss to be introduced in Comsol is η ≈ 2ζ = 0.034.
So now i am happy and i would like to thank both you dr. @ Ijaz Durrani and dr. @ Chitaranjan Pany for your answers and help :)
