I've read about Taylor's micro scale from books on turbulent flows (Pope, Lumley). Suppose, I calculate λ(u′,z) along a line in the flow field with the DNS data I have. What does it signify?
For example, calculating kolmogorov scale at each grid point will show the smallest scale where dissipation happens (atleast according to Kolmogorov's theory) and hence help us estimate the grid size requirement. What do I do with Taylor's microscale? How is it related to turbulence kinetic energy spectrum? Any answer or resource will be helpful.
