I have prepared CdS, CdTe, CdSTe tgub films and now doing its PEC study. I tried it with polysulphide electrolyte but the Isc and Voc obtained was very less than expected. again I tried with polyiodide then I got expected results but the readings were not stable.
so tell me, what mistakes I may be doing or shall I go for any other electrolyte

you can use aqueous solutions of CdSO4 as the Cd source and TeO2 as the Te source at ~85 °C and pH ~2.00 with graphite anode or you can use Cd(NO3)2. It has been proven that CdTe layers grown from 2-electrode systems produce better devices than 3-electrode systems avoiding the contamination of detrimental group-I impurities such as K and Ag caused by the reference electrode

thank you for showing interest in my work. Actually I have already prepared films by spray pyrolysis and now want to study its photoelectrochemical behaviour like I-V, C-V, ff, efficiency......so for this reason i must use a electrolyte in PEC cell and not getting the expected result as i mentioned in my question so please help me in this regard.

As the materials you are working on are photoanodes which enable the stable solar-driven oxidation of H2O to O2(g) in strongly alkaline aqueous solutions, where passive, intrinsically safe, efficient systems for solar-driven PEC water splitting can be devised. An aqueous mixture of Na2S (0.1M) and Na2SO3 (0.1M) pH 7-9 or 0.5 M aqueous KH2PO4 solution with pH adjusted to 8, can be used as an electrolyte to maintain inherent electrode stability against photocorrosion of these films.
