I own a renewable energy startup, and funding is so difficult. Hence due to the startup nature, lack of capital especially, I've only handled low profit projects and using personal funds. I have never taken a loan, or involve investors as these drop my profit on large scale projects too. I want my company to have an R&D facility, so we can stop outsourcing every component which adds to cost. I have a thin film PV system in mind, technical details and properties, but I need validation that no one has patented the technology and the technology is feasible. This is my first step in self manufacturing, which will require a large upfront cost, but then with the revenue, I get to research other energy conversion process, my focus area is solar, waste-energy, tidal (maybe should wait around for this), wind, and lastly hydro or biomass (not very pro biomass because it's not 100% clean, but this is to process palm waste from palm oil manufacturing facilities. So back to my dilemma.

This concept of solar complete kit is only available in written slightly technical form. I do want patented rights to the concept/end product, but because I went to medical school, I'm sure the concept needs modification. Then if the desired output is not met, I would like further research to develop it and again claim patented rights. At this point, as it is just a concept, I am trying to find the safest, cheapest, yet fastest method to perfect the design and start manufacturing. But again, rights and ownership of concept-product is so crucial. Another limitation is, I live in Indonesia where there is not a single one R&D facility on thin fyilms. I wish the best of life for whoever that even attempts to offer any guidance as I am so clueless. Have a great day!
