I m working on the modified patch clamp technique. I stopped at the selection of the head stage electrode or patch clamp electrode. Could it possibly another electrode instead of Agcl?
Is it compulsory to need of head stage? can I modify it with other amplifier ?

Is hard to think in another kind of electrode, becouse the electric properties of the AgCl are the best for reduce the noise. Anyway sometime I read about the idea of used Platin, but the price to high and not are the best for Cl.
And you ned head stage, the amplifier nedd to complete the circuit, but if you like to change the model, can follow the work of Bezanilla and Latorre, and used fluorescence for see electric change in the cells and in the channel properties
