I am currently probing into the surface roughness of the nanomaterial that I have developed using AFM. I need to compare my materials with the following parameters below; I have the calculated values from a software but I truly do not understand the physical meaning of these parameters (except for average roughness). Can you help me explain the meaning and the physical manifestation of these parameters:
1) Root mean square roughness
2) Surface skewness
3) Second moment
4) Coefficient of kurtosis
5) Entropy
6) Redundance
7) Ten point height
If pleased, can you help me also find some reliable references on these terms? I happen to find some but apparently most of them seemed greek to me.
