Please refrain from using the term "Wuhan virus". It is stigmatising and not recommended by scientific authorities.

In May of 2015, the WHO issued a Best Practices Guideline for the Naming of New Human Infectious Diseases, which explicitly recommend against the use of geographical locations, amongst other categories, for the naming of emerging diseases or pathogens moving forward. This should, in fact, prevent the intoduction of political factors into scientific discussions about emerging pathogens. Names like "swine flu" or "french disease" are oftentimes incorrect and can lead to confusion and even misguided political measures. Therefore, I believe that using descriptive terms such as COVID-19 is preferable.
