Hi, of caurse there are much of them, you need juste limit your research about it , if it concern definitions or mechanisms, or assassements, you can find it in several journals
please find this review article which can explain the whole ischemia reperfusion mechanisms on example of renal ischemia reperfusion moreover it explains the remote organ injury associated with ischemia . hope you find it helpful
As you know, For our life, Oxygen (O2) is necessary. But this oxygen and some species of this oxygen could be very harmful and produced in all living species. One of such species of oxygen is "Reactive Oxygen Species or ROS". They are chemically reactive molecules which have oxygen i.e., peroxide, superoxide and hydroxyl radicals. When free radicals and other reactive oxygen species accumulate in the body, they cause damage to our Cells, DNA, Lipids, Sugar and Proteins. These damage results in the deterioration of cells, cell membranes dysfunctions, Protein modifications, Enzymatic Inactivation by breaking the strands of DNA.
The basic link of oxidative stress and Inflammation is that, Excess of free radicals decreased the levels of antioxidant and increased the level of oxidative stress which ultimately cause the number of disease such as cancer, arthritis etc.
