I just compared the prices of 5 ml 4% OsO4 solution of Sigma (184 EUR/5 ml) with Alfa Aesar (149 EUR/10 ml) and agarscientific (51,6 EUR/10ml)(http://www.agarscientific.com/osmium-tetroxide.html).

Considering that agarscientific refers to itself as "Microscopy and Lab

supplies at your fingertips" this osmium tetroxide should be suited to microscopy just like the so certified but 7-fold more expensive Sigma product.

Is it worthy/necessary/compulsory to buy the good-old Sigma reagent that has worked so far? Or can the other microscopy reagent be equally good?
