Dear colleagues, please share your opinion on advantages and disadvantages of open sharing of educational resources, so-called OERs.
the approach means anyone may use your OER, modify them, integrate part of educational material in his own educational materials, etc.

I see no disadvantages, I think it's a great way to disseminate, socialize and democratize knowledge.
I have taken several ED-X courses and read numerous OERs obtained through google scholar. The highly educated in any society will belong to an elite, but OERs and ED-X courses lower the cost of learning. Anything that makes education, formal and informal, more available is laudable. As we constantly hear and read, getting an education is the path out of poverty and all the social associated with poverty, therefore anything that makes education more affordable without compromising standards is wonderful.

My experience shows, that often OERs contain only a poor-linked set of files and videos (sometimes even at courses by world ranked universities and vendors).
@Stefan Great! no magic medium. It's one of my most preferable notes at training: "i can give you information, but have no tool to put it directly in your brain"!
