Shorea robusta, also known as śāl, sakhua or shala tree, is a species of tree belonging to the Dipterocarpaceae family. This tree is native to the Indian subcontinent, ranging south of the Himalaya, from Myanmar in the east to Nepal, India and Bangladesh. This tree is mostly found in tropical climate.
The arrow on fourth figure points at tangential band of vertical gum canal, occurring irregularly and is not indicative of growth ring.
In Shorea robusta parenchyma is mostly paratracheal or paratracheal zonate but never forms concentric bands therefore growth rings cannot be predicted in Sal and thus considered as absent.
Arrows are bit on side but it is a growth ring but if madam says growth rings in shorea are considered absent, in that case identity of the wood may be checked or it may be an individual variation.
