Pump probe quasi-photo induced absorption (qPIA) spectroscopy known as a versatile tool to analyze long living charge carrier species of semiconducting material (organic solar cell, dye-sensitized solar cell, etc.). In this analysis, by plotting the value of change in absorbance (dA) within its frequency (wavelength) domain we can probe various long living charge carrier such as polaron pair, polaron, or singlet state exciton.
We try to learn about this analysis in our group. As a start we try to do qPIA analysis on P3HT:PCBM bulk heterojunction deposited onto fused silica substrate. But we are having some trouble in conducting the analysis so far. In our attempt to do the analysis, after we process the obtained data within the 3 measurements of qPIA analysis (1. measurement when pump light is on/off modulated, 2. Measurement when pump light pumped in continuous wave mode 3. pump light off) we obtain flat response (with strange peak that we assume might be just a noise from the measurement instrument) just as can be seen in the attachment in this post. Can someone please give an insight on what can we do to obtain a good signal in qPIA analysis? Thank you
In the attachment I also attached the result on each measurement (3 measurements on qPIA analysis) that I mentioned earlier.
