I think women can be more realistic beings than men. They know that there are other and more valuable performances than publications. You know women came from the Venus and man from the Mars.
Aiman - I don't think that it is that hard to understand. Many disciplines, especially the 'hard' sciences, have been traditionally dominated by males throughout the world - Western and otherwise - although this is changing. The recognition of the 'equal' importance of humanities and social sciences has helped to bridge the gap. In international journals, I'm convinced that it will not be that long before we start to see equal representation of women (where they are allowed equal access to education and academic positions) within scholarly journals.

Most of the disciplines that you describe as more related to females (bar nursing -and I should know- and say education) have, until recently, been male dominated.
